Plan Your Visit
When we say all are welcome, we mean you.
We get asked a lot if our church is welcoming—and the answer is yes! At Brownsville United Methodist Church, we don’t just want to be welcoming, we want to be affirming. No matter who you are, where you’re from, or whom you love, we hope you’ll find our church to be a place of blessing and belonging.
LGBTQ+ inclusion
Since 2015, we’ve been part of the Reconciling Ministries Network, joining others across the United Methodist Church who are working for justice and full participation of LGBTQ+ people in every part of church life. You can learn more about the Reconciling Ministries Network here.
Worship and live stream
Sunday worship begins at 11:00am and lasts about an hour. Bulletins and assistive listening devices are available at the entry table. We also offer a live stream of the service downstairs in the fellowship hall for those who need to step out for any reason.
Children and Families
Families with little ones are more than welcome to worship with us. We have a dedicated Prayground at the back of the sanctuary—a space with books, toys, and activities so little ones can engage in worship. We celebrate disciples of all ages, and we believe laughter, tears, and wiggles are part of the joy of being human together. Downstairs is also where you will find the kid’s room/nursery, and where we gather for coffee and fellowship after the service.
Holy Communion
Every week’s service culminates in the celebration of Holy Communion (also known The Lord’s Supper or the Eucharist). Our’s is an open table where everyone is welcome to participate. All of the Holy Communion elements are gluten-free and alcohol-free.
Bathrooms
All bathrooms are gender neutral and are ADA-accessible.
Sunday Best?
If you are wondering what to wear, we invite you to wear what you are comfortable in! Most folks dress pretty casually.
